The Need for Persistence

When we need help from God, do we ask for it?  You would think that the answer is always yes, but we all know that we don’t ask God for all of the things that we need.

Why is that?  Well, sometimes we feel that what we want is not worthy enough to ask  about.  Maybe sometimes our wants and needs aren’t as important as those of others.  Today’s gospel tells us of the persistence of a blind man in asking Jesus for pity, ultimately resulting in healing of his blindness.  Do we literally have to have an affliction like blindness to receive God’s healing?

The answer, of course, is no.  God is the provider of all the we need, even the very small things.  So we should always, persistently, ask God for those needs.
