One Response to Flash Mob

    A wonderful video. Some thoughts:
Based on the opening notes it was done in 2011 in Preston, England. Seemingly by Capuchins. Did it have a permit for a public event? Since it was so short – about 5 minutes – maybe a permit was irrelevant. I wonder if the excellent script/narration was unique to this event or from other sources. What was the motivation for doing this? Why Preston? Had it been done before? Has it been done since? Elsewhere?
What would I do if confronted during my shopping trip by such a scene? Would I be embarrassed or would I welcome seeing the Body of Christ on the street? What would have happened if there were a loud obnoxious heckler? Do I think this is disrespectful or not? Probably other questions come to mind …
Oh by the way, I found a written copy of the script used in Preston, if anyone is interested.
With a cursory Google search I found some other Catholic “flash mob” videos on You Tube:
“God in the Streets of New York City”
Adoration at a mall in Downey, CA (Dec 14, 2011)
Hallelujah Chorus at a Food Court (Nov 13, 2010)
    T. Aquinas College Chorus sing Christmas Carols at Pacific View Mall
