When we say that we love the Lord, do we consider the fact that loving our fellow Christians is a necessary part of that love? The apostle Paul certainly understood the linkage of those two aspects of love, as he revealed in today’s reading from Romans.
Brothers and sisters:
Let love be sincere;
hate what is evil,
hold on to what is good;
love one another with mutual affection;
anticipate one another in showing honor.
We need to work, worship and praise the Lord with our brothers and sisters in Christ, treating each other with patience and mutual respect. That community of belief enhances our intimacy with God. So love the Lord, both personally and communally.
