Incorruptible

empty-tomb

If we, like Jesus, are raised from the dead, what kind of body will we have?  Today’s first reading gives us the answer.

It is sown corruptible; it is raised incorruptible.
It is sown dishonorable; it is raised glorious.
It is sown weak; it is raised powerful.
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual one.

So, does that mean that we will arise in a body more beautiful, more handsome, more healthy than we had in life?  No.  It means that there will be no corruption, since we will be raised in a glorified state.  The vanities of the body that we harbored in our earthly life will fall away in our union with the Lord Jesus.  We will see each other in a new way, in that we will see the light of Christ in each of the risen.

We will be perfect in Jesus.
