Have you ever thought about how lucky we are to be children of God? If someone asked for an explanation of what that means to you, could you tell them? Today we get a little help on that score when we read Paul’s exhortation to the church in Ephesus.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavens,
as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world,
to be holy and without blemish before him.
In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ,
in accord with the favor of his will,
for the praise of the glory of his grace
that he granted us in the beloved.
We are his beloved ones. We were chosen by God.
Glory and praise to you, our Heavenly Father. May we proclaim your greatness with our words, through our deeds and in our hearts!
