In today’s gospel passage from Luke, Jesus reminds us of the graces that we have been given.  The most important of these is knowing for certain that he has won the victory for us.  This is the greatest gift.

Turning to the disciples in private he said,
“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
For I say to you,
many prophets and kings desired to see what you see,
but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”

Lord, give us the clarity to recognize your love in the world.  Give us humility of heart so that we can live in that love.  Help us to participate in your life so that we can be merciful and forgiving with each other.

Maranatha.  Come, Lord Jesus.
