If You are Willing

No matter what we have done, God is ready to forgive us.  That is the theme of the season of Lent.  God loves us so much that He gave his son as expiation for our sins.  All that we have to do to receive this gift is to turn away from sin and believe in the gospel.  Isaiah reminds us of God’s mercy in today’s first reading.

Come now, let us set things right,
says the LORD:
Though your sins be like scarlet,
they may become white as snow;
Though they be crimson red,
they may become white as wool.
If you are willing, and obey,
you shall eat the good things of the land;
But if you refuse and resist,
the sword shall consume you:
for the mouth of the LORD has spoken!

Are we willing?  Can we obey?  Can we change our ways, and our lives?

Jesus paid the price for us on the cross.  Believe in the good news.
