Near Indeed is His Salvation

We are moving day by day closer to our celebration of the entry of the Savior into our world.  We wait in anticipation for the coming of the Lord because we know the salvation that heals our sinfulness.  That redemption was foreseen by the psalmist in our reading today.

I will hear what God proclaims;
the LORD –for he proclaims peace to his people.
Near indeed is his salvation to those who fear him,
glory dwelling in our land.

Kindness and truth shall meet;
justice and peace shall kiss.
Truth shall spring out of the earth,
and justice shall look down from heaven.

The LORD himself will give his benefits;
our land shall yield its increase.
Justice shall walk before him,
and salvation, along the way of his steps.

How appropriate that tomorrow we will celebrate the the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her “yes” to God ushered in the Incarnation.  Through her humility and the loving sacrifice of her son, our world has been transformed.

    Thank you God for loving us so much that you made this possible for us. Help those who are blinded to this open their eyes at this time of year and keep us safe. Amen.

    Sounds like something well worth waiting for!
