You Are Christ’s Body

One of the most satisfying aspects of being a follower of Jesus is the many close friendships we develop with our fellow believers.  Although we may have different ministries, all of us are part of the body of Christ.

Brothers and sisters:
As a body is one though it has many parts,
and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body,
so also Christ.
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body,
whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons,
and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.
Now the body is not a single part, but many.
You are Christ’s body, and individually parts of it.

There is so much to do.  Jesus is depending on us to share the gospel, care for the sick, visit those who are in prison and feed the hungry.  When we undertake these ministries we are stepping in the shoes of Jesus, who can only continue his ministry through our free gift of our time and talent.

It is a job that doesn’t pay a dime, but it is the most satisfying work that we will ever undertake.
