A Willing Spirit Sustain in Me

Ever get tired of getting kicked around and ridiculed because of your faith in Jesus Christ? Have you watched the news with a foreboding feeling as you see so many people in our country celebrating the doing of evil?  If you have, don’t feel discouraged.  We are, in a way, a remnant people, forced to see loved ones and friends lose sight of the joy of the Lord’s salvation.

A clean heart create for me, O God,
and a steadfast spirit renew within me.
Cast me not out from your presence,
and your Holy Spirit take not from me.

Give me back the joy of your salvation,
and a willing spirit sustain in me.
I will teach transgressors your ways,
and sinners shall return to you.

Free me from blood guilt, O God, my saving God;
then my tongue shall revel in your justice.
O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Just like the psalmist, we are chosen to reveal Christ to those in our lives.  If only one person comes to believe in the salvation of Christ through our efforts, blessed are we in the eyes of the Lord.

Many reject him, but all are called by him.  We are his workers in the field.  You don’t have to be trained in homiletics to touch hearts.  All that is required is a open heart and the words will come.

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.
