Car Talk

I’m having some major work on my truck done by my friend JJ.  While the work is ongoing, JJ lent me his Jeep to drive around.  When I got in the car the radio was playing a Christian radio station from southern Pennsylvania.  I decided to leave the radio on that station.  Over the last several days I have been listening to inspirational Christian music and interesting and thought-provoking bible talk.  In a way, it’s been sort of like a mini retreat.

It reminds me that you never know when God will speak to your heart.  Also, it teaches that the Lord will frequently give us opportunities to get closer to him, if only we take the time to pay attention.

Thanks, JJ!

  1. Lee Surkin says:

Prayer is when you talk to God; meditation is when you listen to God! We need silence to be alone with God, to speak to him, to listen to him, to ponder his words deep in our hearts. We need to be alone with God in silence to be renewed and transformed. Silence gives us a new outlook on life. In it we are filled with the energy of God himself that makes us do all things with joy.

Christian music, when listened to over & over, penetrates the sub-
conscious & becomes a musical prayer! Something that just pops
up in your head &, I think, when you need it to! The words might
just be what you need for that moment in time! It would be great
for parents to make Christian music their entertainment of choice
especially when children are in the car or in the home!
