Jesus the Radical

Jesus was a radical.  He counted women among his followers, certainly an amazing and puzzling thing to do since women were essentially the property of their husbands.  But Jesus didn’t care about societal norms, he cared about spreading the gospel to anyone who would listen.

Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another,
preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God.
Accompanying him were the Twelve
and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities,
Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,
Joanna, the wife of Herod’s steward Chuza,
Susanna, and many others
who provided for them out of their resources.

Don’t despair at the ungodly norms of our current culture.  Instead, love just as radically as Jesus loved.

Wow a women’s movement started so long ago. Thank you Jesus.

And Jesus being Jesus, He certainly knew who the “good” listeners were!
